whiskey crab soup
INGREDIENTS
  • 2 T.olive oil
  • 1 c. shrd. carrots
  • .5 T basil
  • .5 T garlic powder
  • .5 C chopped red onion
  • 2.75 C. chopped canned tomatoes
  • 4 C. water
  • 2 T. fish stock
  • .5 C butter
  • .5 c. water
  • .5 c flour
  • 2/3 c red sauce
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1/2 tsp. white pepper
  • 1 T. lemon juice
  • 1/2 T. worchestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. tabasco sauce
  • 2/3 C. crab meat
  • 2 C. heavy cream
  • 1/2 T. sherry
  • 1 T. whiskey.

RECIPE BACKSTORY
My wife and I tried this soup in a restaurant and really enjoyed it. Over the years we kept going back just for the soup. So finally, after a day of crabbing, I decided to try and duplicate the recipe and this is what I came up with! ENJOY!
