caramel apples (Halloween lab)

- Preparation Time: 10 minutes
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 6 apples
- non stick cooking spray
DIRECTIONS
- add sugar syrup 1/2 cup water to a sauce pan over medium high heat
- stir before the sugar begins to boil to combine the ingredients bring the mixture to a boil
- cook untill the mixture turns an amber color than swirl to even out color continue to cook untill the mixture is a deep amber color than remove from heat
- carefully pour in the cream gentally whisk to combine stir in butter and vanilla untill smooth
- one at a time dip in an apple using the stick as a handle swirling to coat completly allow excess caramel to drip off the bottom
- set each apple on parchment paper and sprinkle with toppings of your choise
- let cool and come back to get them later
