Wonderful Waffles
  • Servings: 3 waffles
  • 1 c all-purpose flour
  • 2 t baking powder
  • 1 t sugar
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 1 c milk
  • 1/4 c margarine or butter, melted
  • 1 egg, separated
  • (We often double the recipe)
  1. Heat the waffle iron.
  2. Mix flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Stir in milk, margarine and egg yolk until blended.
  4. Beat egg white in a small bowl on high speed until stiff peaks form; fold flour mixture into egg white.
  5. Pour about 2/3 c of the batter onto the center of hot waffle iron. Bake until steaming stops. Remove waffle carefully. Repeat with remaining batter.
