Texas Chili

INGREDIENTS
- 2 lbs ground meat (beef, turkey or whatever)
- 4 C beef or chicken broth
- 1 small onion (diced)
- 1 can Ranch style beans (optional)
- 2 Tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp cayenne
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 small can tomato paste
- 1 can diced tomatoes
DIRECTIONS
- In large stockpot or dutch oven:
- Brown meat, drain off excess grease & remove to bowl
- Saute onion until browned in pot--add sugar
- Return meat to pot and add all dried spices
- Add broth, tomatoes and tomato paste,mix well
- Simmer on low heat for 1-2 hours
- Add beans for last 30-45 mintues of cooking, if desired
- Top with sour cream, diced red onion or cheddar cheese
- Delicious when served with hot cornbread!!
