Sweet and Sour Meatballs

- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 2 Tbsp fine, dry breadcrumbs
- 1 Tbsp skim milk
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp dried whole thyme
- 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
- Dash of ground red pepper
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Vegetable cooking spray
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 (10.75 oz) can tomato puree
- 1/2 cup unsweetened pineapple juice
- 2 Tbsp red wine vinegar
- 2 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
DIRECTIONS
- Combine first 9 ingredients; mix well. Shape into 48 meatballs, using 1 ½ tsp mixture for each meatball. Arrange on rack of a broiler pan coated with cooking spray. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes or until browned. Set aside.
- Coat a Dutch oven with cooking spray; place over medium heat until thoroughly heated. Add onion and sauté until tender. Add tomato puree, pineapple juice, vinegar, lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce. Add meatballs; cover and simmer over low heat for 20 minutes. Serve hot.
