Sugared Bacon

  • 1 lb. bacon, room temperature (regular bacon, not thick sliced) 1 1/4 cups brown sugar
  • 1 T cinnamon, optional
  1. Cut each slice of bacon in half, crosswise. Mix sugar and cinnamon together and thoroughly coat each slice of bacon. Twist slices (or leave flat) and place on rack in a broiler pan or jelly roll pan in a 350 degree F. oven. Bake until crisp and sugar is bubbly, 15-20 minutes.

I make this for our brunches - don't leave out the cinnamon - it makes the bacon. The tantalizing aroma of bacon, brown sugar and cinnamon is irresistible. These morsels are fine for either a buffet brunch or a cocktail party.
