Strawberry Pretzel Salad

INGREDIENTS
  • 1-1/2 sticks butter or margarine, melted
  • 1-1/2 cup pretzels, crushed
  • 1 cup plus 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
  • 1 large carton Cool Whip®
  • 1 (6 ounce) package strawberry JELL-O®
  • 2 (10 ounce) packages frozen strawberries, thawed
DIRECTIONS
  1. Cream 3 tablespoons sugar and butter;
  2. add pretzels.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Press into 9 x 13 pan.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes
  6. Cool.
  7. Combine cream cheese and 1 cup sugar; cream until smooth.
  8. Fold in Cool Whip®. Spread over cooled crust.
  9. Dissolve strawberry JELL-O® in one cup boiling water.
  10. Add 1/2 cup cold water.
  11. Stir in strawberries.
  12. Let chill partially,
  13. spread over cream cheese filling
  14. Chill overnight.
