Steak & Mushrooms

  • 4 tsp. margarine
  • 3 cups sliced mushrooms
  • 8 TBSP. sliced shallots
  • 1 cup dry red wine
  • 1 cup fat-free Beef broth
  • 4 steaks
  • salt and pepper
  • dash of thyme
  1. Melt margarine in non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms and onions, cook 5 minutes then set aside in a small bowl.
  2. Salt and pepper the meat, add to the skillet and cook for 3 minutes on each side.
  3. Return mushroom mixture to heat, add 2 tsp. of cornstarch and a dash of thyme. Boil 1 minute and serve with steak.
Fast and easy and loaded with flavor. If you serve this to others they will think you slaved over this one.
