Snickerdoodles
INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup shortening (I prefer the butter-flavored)
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 3/4 cups flour
- 2 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 tsp soda
- 1.4 tsp salt
- 2 T sugar
- 2 T cinnamon
DIRECTIONS
- Heat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Mix thoroughly butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar and eggs. Blend in flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt.
- Shape dough by rounded teaspoon into balls. Mix the 2 T sugar and cinnamon together. Roll balls in mixture (as a kid, I loved helping my mom with this).
- Place balls 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake 8-10 minutes or until aset. Immediately remove from baking sheet.
