Skillet Lasagna

  • Skillet Lasagna
  • 1 jar (26 oz.) marinara sauce
  • 3 cups water
  • 8 oz. lasagna noodles
  • 1 b. turkey italian sausage, removed from casings
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 oz. parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbls. chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 c. shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 tsp. ground pepper
  • additional parmesan cheese for topping (optional)
  • 1.Combine sauce and water in a 12 in. skillet, cover; bring to a boil.
  • 2. Break lasagna noodles into quarters, Stir noodle into sauce. Cover; reduce heat and simmer 16-18 minutes until noodles are tender.
  • 3. As noodles cook place sausage in a 10 in. skillet and cook over medium high heat, stirring, until no longer pink. While cooking break sausage up into crumbles. Add garlic and cook an additional minute. Remove from heat and stir sausage into the noodle mixture.
  • 4. Grate parmesan cheese, chop parsley and add to ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese and pepper in a bowl. Stir to combine. Scoop cheese mixture into the sausage and noodles, cover and simmer gently 3-5 minutes.
  • 5. Serve with additional parmesan cheese.
