Rocky Road Cake

  • Group 1:
  • 2 c. flour
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • Group 2:
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. oil
  • 1/2 c. oleo
  • Group 3:
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • Group 4:
  • 1/2 c. oleo
  • 1/4 c. cocoa
  • 1/3 c. buttermilk
  • Group 5:
  • powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. mini marshmallows
DIRECTIONS
  1. Sift together ingredients in Group 1. In a saucepan, bring Group 2 to a boil. Pour over Group 1 and beat until smooth. Add Group 3 to the mixture and bake at 400 degrees for 16 minutes in 11"x16" pan.
  2. Bring Group 4 to a boil in saucepan. Add Group 5 and frost cake immediately.
  3. Alternate: Add chopped pecans to Group 5.
