Puerto Rican Cheese Fritters

  • Ingredients
  • 1/2 pound of Gouda, swiss or Cheddar Cheese, grated
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbs cornstartch
  • Cayenne pepper to taste
  • Bread crumbs for coating
  • oil for frying
  1. Beat the cheese, egg and cornstartch and cayenne with a mixer on high speed until well blended. Roll into small balls,(about 1 tsp of the mixture.)
  2. Coat with bread crumbs and fry in hot oil till golden brown. Oil temperature should be 350. Drain and serve immediately.
  3. Serves 4-6 as an appetizer~
  4. Jack cheese with jalapenos would be a nice cheese to use as well.
