Pound Cake

  • 2 3/4 cups of sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups soft butter
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
DIRECTIONS
  1. heat oven to 350 degrees, grease and flour a loaf pan. Beat sugar, butter eggs and vanilla in a large mixer bowl on low speed-scraping bowl-for 30 seconds. Beat on high speed for 5 minutes.
  2. Combine Flour, baking powder and salt. Add in alternately with milk beating on low speed.
  3. Bake until toothpick comes out clean, about 70 to 80 minutes. cool 20 minutes before removing from pan.

This recipe comes from Karalee. Every year for thanksgiving she takes time out of her day to make this delicious cake for everyone to share. Its a good desert if you have alot of people because i usually eat one piece and then get full.
