Oatmeal Cookies

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 cup shortening, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground cloves
  • 2 1/2 cups oats (not instant)
DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Combine sugar and molasses.
  3. Add the shortening.
  4. Stir to mix.
  5. When cooled, add the eggs and milk, mix well.
  6. Whisk together the flour, cinnamon, cloves and add to the egg-sugar mixture.
  7. Mix well.
  8. Stir in the oats.
  9. Drop batter by tablespoons on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  10. Bake for about 13 minutes; the cookies will be very dark.
