Oatmeal Cookies
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 cup shortening, melted
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground cloves
- 2 1/2 cups oats (not instant)
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Combine sugar and molasses.
- Add the shortening.
- Stir to mix.
- When cooled, add the eggs and milk, mix well.
- Whisk together the flour, cinnamon, cloves and add to the egg-sugar mixture.
- Mix well.
- Stir in the oats.
- Drop batter by tablespoons on an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake for about 13 minutes; the cookies will be very dark.
