New England Boiled Dinner with ham
INGREDIENTS
- Servings: 45 people
- Chicken Broth- 1 Quart
- Diced ham- 4 lbs
- Fresh Cabbage- 1 ½ heads
- Onion Diced- 1 each
- Canned Potatoes- 1 (#10) can
- Baby Carrots- 1 lb
- Rutabaga (optional)- 1 each
- Black pepper- 1 tsp
- or buy a big can of mixed vegetables (#10 can)
DIRECTIONS
- If using Can of Mixed Vegetables
- 1. Wash hands
- 2.Make sure Chicken Broth and ham are hot
- 3. add the can of mixed vegetables
- 4. Add Cabbage and cook for 20 minutes
- 5. make sure temp is at 150º
- When using fresh vegetables
- 1. Wash hands
- 2. Wash cabbage and in eighths
- 3. Dice ham if you only have regular ham
- 4. combine all ingredients expect cabbage
- 5. Add pepper and stir
- 6. Cook on stove until vegetables are cooked
- 7. make sure temp is at 165º
- 8. cook cabbage into cooked then add to the vegetables
- 9. serve in a bowl with crackers and enjoy :)
