My Best Fluffy Biscuits
INGREDIENTS
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 8 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 teaspoons sugar
- 1 cup shortening(Use butter or vegetable shortening such as Crisco—Do not use margarine)
- 1 1/3 cups cold buttermilk
DIRECTIONS
- I got this from www.beyondwonderful.com and like it says: roll the dough extra thick, and use a one inch deep cookie cutter or a orange juice glass. I tried it once with margarine...nope... flat. Got to use butter for the fluffyness of it all.
- Bake at 450 for about 18 minutes...you'll see when they're ready. Golden Brown and hot...ready for butter or jam!
