Meatloaf in an Onion
INGREDIENTS
- 1 1/2 lb. hamburger
- 1/4 c. dry bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. your favorite BBQ sauce
DIRECTIONS
- This is a home favorite that has moved to the camp ground. We do all our cooking in a dutch oven but you can cook on the coals in aluminum foil also.
- 1 1/2 lb. hamburger
- 1/4 c. dry bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. your favorite BBQ sauce
- Mix all ingredients. Peel 3 large vadalia onion. Peel off 2 of the outer rings. Fill the outer rings of the onion with meatloaf mixture. Continue using rings only the largest rings as a portion. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 1 hour or wrap in heavy duty foil and turn every 15 minutes.
- We used to say the daddy onion(for the largest), mommy onion, and the baby onion so everyone knew which one was theirs.
