Hot Milk Cake
INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup milk
- 1 stick butter
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup milk
- 1 stick butter
DIRECTIONS
- Boil first 2 ingredients (milk and butter) and set aside.
- Blend eggs and sugar. Add flour, baking powder, and vanilla. Stir in milk/butter. Mix until lumps disappear.
- Bake of one hour at 350 degrees in a 9 x 13 pan for about 30 minutes. For tube pan, bake 50-60 minutes. Watch the cake. When it springs back when touched, it is done.
- Good served with strawberries or fresh peaches.
