Homemade Graham Crackers

  • 4 cups Whole Wheat Graham Flour
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 egg -- slightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • white flour
DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Cut butter into flour till coarse. Add sugar, soda, cream of tartar, egg and enough hot water to make dough that can be rolled like pastry.
  3. Roll 1/8-1/4" thick on a board sprinkled with a little white flour. Cut into 3" squares. Place on an ungreased baking sheet.
  4. Bake 15-20 minutes. Cool on rack. Brush tops with butter.
