Hawaiian Loco Moco
  • 1-2 lbs ground beef
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup celery, chopped
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • optional - caramelized onions, cooked egg and sauce or gravy
  1. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl until moist but not too soft
  2. Form into round patties
  3. Cook patties in oiled pan with caramelized onions until well done
  4. Transfer meat on top of steamed rice
  5. Layer caramelized onions on top of patty
  6. If desired, add your choice of cooked egg on top - scrambles, over easy, etc
  7. Drizzle choice of sauce on top - teriyaki, beef gravy, etc
