Grandma Cookies (aka Fruit Cookies)
INGREDIENTS
- Cooking Time: 10
- 2 C. brown sugar
- 1 C. Crisco (Grandma used lard!)
- 3 eggs
- 4 T. boiling water (from raisins)
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 C. raisins, cooked
- 1/2 C. walnuts, coarsely ground
- 3-1/2 C. flour
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- Dash of salt.
DIRECTIONS
- Boil raisins in water for approximately 10 minutes. Drain, but save water.
- Mix all ingredients.
- Drop by teaspoonful onto cookie sheet sprayed with Pam.
- Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 10 minutes. Store covered.
- Freezes well.
