German Chocolate Sheet Cake

  • 2 cups of flour
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 eggs
  • When cool frost:
  • Melt: 1 stick butter
  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 6 Tbs. milk
  • Add: 1 box confectioner's sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup chooped walnuts
DIRECTIONS
  1. Sift 2 cups of flour, 2 cups of sugar, 1 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp salt together.
  2. Melt together and mix the following, 2 sticks of butter, 1/4 cup cocoa powder and 1 cup of water.
  3. Add this to the dry ingredients and mix well.
  4. Finally add to batter the following,
  5. 1 1/2 tsp vanilla, 1/2 cup sour cream, 2 eggs slightly beaten.
  6. Spread evenly in greased jelly roll pan (cookie sheet with sides) Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes until top springs back when lightly touched with a finger.
