Easy Swiss Steak
  • 2 pounds boneless chuck roast
  • ½ cup flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 3 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 medium bottle ketchup
  • ½ cup water
  1. 1. Place flour, salt, and cayenne pepper in large resealable plastic bag; mix well. Add roast to bag and
  2. shake vigorously to coat well.
  3. 2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and brown roast on both sides. Reduce heat to
  4. simmer, put ketchup over top of roast, and add water to thin the liquid. Cover and cook for 1½ hours,
  5. turning and adding more ketchup and water as needed.
  6. 3. Serve over hot rice.
