Easy Southern Biscuits
  • Cooking Time: 20
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (I use White Lily)
  • 3 tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup milk (preferably not skim)
  1. Sift together flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. Cut butter into mixture with a pastry blender (or a knife and fork) until crumbly.
  3. Add milk and mix until a smooth dough forms.
  4. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead 2-3 times.
  5. Cut with a 2" cookie cutter and place on a greased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake at 375 F for about 20 minutes.
These biscuits taste just like the ones my great-grandmother was famous for. They're perfect when warm, with butter and honey.
