Dulce de Leche Bars
INGREDIENTS

- 1 1/2 cups AP flour
- 1 1/2 cups quick-cooking or old fashion oats
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup butter or margarine. softened
- 1 can (13.4oz) dulce de leche
- 1 cup toffee bits
DIRECTIONS
- Heat oven to 350.
- In a large bowl mix flour, oats, brown sugar and salt.
- With pastry blender or form, cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.
- Press 3/4 mixture into ungreased 13x9 pan.
- Bake 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, in 1 quart saucepan heat dulce de leche over low heat 2 - 4 minutes.
- Stirring frequently, until slightly softened.
- Spread dulce de leche over partially baked crust. Sprinkle evenly with toffee bits and ramaining crumb mixture.
- Bake 20 - 25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool 15 minutes.
- Run knife around sides of pan to loosen bars.
- Cool completely (about 30 minutes).
- For bars, cut in 8 rows by 4 rows.
