Chocolate Cream Filled Cake
  • 1 (18.25-oz.) pkg. chocolate cake mix plus ingredients to prepare mix
  • 1 (8-oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 Cup sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 (6-oz.) pkg. semisweet chocolate chips
  • Powdered sugar or prepared chocolate frosting (optional)
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degree. Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Pour batter into greased and floured 9 X 13-inch baking pan. Beat cheese and sugar in small bowl with electric mixer until creamy. Beat in egg. Fold in chocolate. Pour batter in baking pan. Pour cheese mixture evenly over top of cake batter. (Filling will fall below the surgace during baking). Bake 30 - 40 minutes or until top springs back when lightly touched. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Sprinkle with powdered sugar or frost with chocolate frosting.
