Candied Baked Turnips Elaine Mazur's Style
  • 2 Lg Turnips per person eating
  • Butter/ Margarine
  • Light brown sugar
  • Salt
  1. Grease w/ butter glass casserole dish (only need big enough for single layer of sliced turnips)
  2. Wash peel and cut off both ends of Turnips
  3. Slice thinly and layer in baking dish (put 1st slice dwn than 1/2 way dwn that slice put the next ect)
  4. Lightly salt
  5. Sprinkle light brown sugar over all
  6. Bake at 350 until turnips are soft
I got this recipe from my grandmother. Even people who thought they didn't like turnips like these!
