Baked Brie w/ Cherries & Pecans

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 - 6" Brie wheel
  • 1/4 c. Dried cherries
  • 1/4 c. Pecans - toasted & chopped
  • 2-3 Tbs. Brown sugar
  • 1 Puff pastry sheet
  • 1/2 Egg beaten w 1 tsp water
DIRECTIONS
  1. Cut brie in half w/knife or dental floss; Sprinkle bottom half with cherries, nuts & sugar
  2. Replace top half and apply pressure to seal & secure the stuffing.
  3. Working on well floured surface, roll pastry to fully cover brie; place brie in middle of pastry
  4. and fold excess around the wheel; if excess pastry roll out and make decorative cut outs; Brush brie w/egg glaze & place decorations on top
  5. Place on baking sheet lined w/parchment;
  6. Bake @ 400° for 20-30 min. or until pastry begins to turn golden brown;
  7. Reduce to 325° and bake 20 min.
  8. Can be made ahead, wrapped securely and frozen
