Baked Brie w/ Cherries & Pecans
INGREDIENTS
- 1 - 6" Brie wheel
- 1/4 c. Dried cherries
- 1/4 c. Pecans - toasted & chopped
- 2-3 Tbs. Brown sugar
- 1 Puff pastry sheet
- 1/2 Egg beaten w 1 tsp water
DIRECTIONS
- Cut brie in half w/knife or dental floss; Sprinkle bottom half with cherries, nuts & sugar
- Replace top half and apply pressure to seal & secure the stuffing.
- Working on well floured surface, roll pastry to fully cover brie; place brie in middle of pastry
- and fold excess around the wheel; if excess pastry roll out and make decorative cut outs; Brush brie w/egg glaze & place decorations on top
- Place on baking sheet lined w/parchment;
- Bake @ 400° for 20-30 min. or until pastry begins to turn golden brown;
- Reduce to 325° and bake 20 min.
- Can be made ahead, wrapped securely and frozen
