Aunt June Tavenier's Chili Sauce
INGREDIENTS
  • Servings: about 6 pints
  • 1 peck tomatoes
  • 8 large onions
  • 8 hot peppers
  • 1 cup salt
  • 1 quart vinegar
  • 6 cups of sugar
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp allspice
DIRECTIONS
  1. Skin tomatoes and cut fine
  2. Add ground peppers and onions
  3. Add salt
  4. Let stand overnight
  5. Drain in colander 2 hours
  6. Put in bowl and add vinegar, sugar. ginger, cinnamon, allspice
  7. Boil 'til thick about 1 1/2 hours
  8. Put in pint jars

Found this one in my old recipes. She is my great aunt on my Dads side. I haven't tried it yet. So if you try it before me let me know what you think :) (Only reason I haven't tried it is I hate hot peppers and too much salt!)
