Adult Tuna Casserole

INGREDIENTS
  • 4 oz wide egg noodles
  • 2 tbsp, 1 tsp butter
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 ribs celery, finely diced
  • 2 1/2 tbsp flour
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tbsp dry mustard
  • 1 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 10 drops hot pepper sauce
  • 2 tbsp grainy mustard
  • 3/4 cup frozen peas
  • 6 oz grated cheddar
  • 1 12 oz can tuna
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp chopped dill
  • 1/4 cup green olives
  • Topping (see below)
DIRECTIONS
  1. Cook noodles as directed, drain and set aside
  2. In a medium pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and celery. Sautee 4 minutes until soft. Add flour and cook, stirring, 1-2 minutes - be careful not to brown. Add bay leaf, mustard, milk and whipping cream. Bring to a boil while whipping. Add worcestershire, salt, pepper and hot pepper and simmer 2 minutes. Add grainy mustard, peas, cheese and remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Preheat oven to 350*. Toss noodles with tuna. Add lemon, dill, olives and sauce. Place in a 9x9 or 11x7 pan and sprinkle with topping. Bake 25-30 minutes until hot
