turkey thigh tagine

Why I Love This Recipe
not at all spicy but packed with flavour. a must try!
Ingredients You'll Need
2tbsp olive oil
1 chopped onion
500g diced turkey thigh
125g soft pitted dates
250mls fresh orang juice
250mls water
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground turmeric
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp ground allspice
pinch salt
50g ground almonds
handful flaked almonds
Directions
1- soften the onion gently in the olive oil for about 10 minutes
2- add all the ground spices and turn well with the onions
3- add the meat to the pan, searing evenly on all sides
4- add the dates, orange juice, water and salt, bring to the bubble
5- cover and simmer on the lowest possible heat for 2 hours
6- just before serving, add both ground and flaked almonds
7- serve with couscous
