Southern-Style Chocolate Gravy

Why I Love This Recipe
I love this recipe because it reminds me of my Grandmother's kitchen. Grandma was from Arkansas and she made biscuits & gravy for breakfast quite often, and "if we were good" she promised us Chocolate Gravy! I tested this recipe to see if it turns out the way Grandma's tasted because she never wrote anything down instead she just threw stuff into a pot, and like magic, out came something delicious to eat! Something interesting that I found out is that Chocolate Gravy was a regular item at Elvis Presley's Graceland.
Ingredients You'll Need
1/4 cup cocoa
3 tbsp all purpose flour
3/4 cup sugar
2 cups milk, (Grandma used some portion of evaporated milk, I remember that much)
1 tbsp butter, softened
2 tsp vanilla
Directions
Whisk the cocoa, flour and sugar together in a bowl until there are no lumps.
Add milk and whisk until well mixed.
Transfer the mixture to a saucepan, and cook over medium heat, stirring frequently until the desired consistency is reached.
Stir butter into the mixture. Serve right away over hot buttered biscuits.
