Ruby's Applesauce Cake

Why I Love This Recipe
This recipe was given to my Mother when she was a young bride in Smiths Ferry Idaho in 1951. This recipe is over75 years old and is being handed down to my Daughters and Grand Daughter. I lost my Mother in 2004 I found this recipe and when I make it I think of her.
Ingredients You'll Need
4 cups flour
2 1/2 cups sugar
2 tsp salt
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp cloves
2 tsp soda
1 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
3 cups applesauce
2 tsp vanilla
raisins or nuts if desired
Directions
sift all the dry ingredients together
add the wet ingredients and stir together.
Pour into 4 greased and floured bread pans.
Bake at 350 degrees until a toothpick comes out clean.
