A zesty and festive twist on classic barbeque meatballs. There are fantastic as an appetizer or a main course. By using prepared meatballs, this recipe is super simple and fast.
Ingredients You'll Need
Ingredients for 30 servings:
3-4 x 24-ounce bags frozen homestyle meatballs of choice (or 150-200 individual 1/2 oz. meatballs)
1 can of cranberry sauce or 1.5 cups of homemade cranberry sauce
1-2 bottles prepared barbeque sauce
1/2 tsp. clove
1 tsp. red pepper flake, or more to taste
1 onion, sliced and sautéed until soft
6 ounce can tomato paste
Parsley flake to garnish
Ingredients for 50 servings:
5-6 x 24-ounce bags frozen homestyle meatballs of choice (or 250-300 individual 1/2 oz. meatballs)
2 cans of cranberry sauce or 2.75 cups of homemade cranberry sauce
2-3 bottles prepared barbeque sauce
3/4 tsp. clove
1 1/2 tsp. red pepper flake, or more to taste
2 onion, sliced and sautéed until soft
10 ouncea canned tomato paste
Parsley flake to garnish
Directions
Instructions are for 30 serving size:
In a bowl, combine cranberry sauce, 1 bottle barbeque sauce, 1 can tomato paste, clove, and red peper flake. Stir well. If desired, add additional red pepper flake or barbeque sauce.
Pour sauce over meatballs. Heat in crock pot on Low for 4 hours or bake in oven according to bag directions. Garnish with parsley.
