Mom's Rum Pie

Why I Love This Recipe
My Mom always makes this during the holiday's. Many friends ask her to make it.
Ingredients You'll Need
6 egg yolks
1 scant c. sugar
1 envelope of gelatin
1/2 c cold water
1 pint of cream
1/2 c dark rum
2 crumb pie shell(oreo is best)
Directions
Beat 6 egg yolks until light, and add 1 scant c. sugar.
Soak 1 envelope of gelatin in 1/2 c cold water. Put water and gelatin over low flame and bring to boil.
Pour over the sugar-egg mixture, stirring briskly. Whip 1 pint of cream until stiff.
Fold it in the slightly cooled egg mixture, and flavor with 1/2 c dark rum.
Cool until the mixture begins to set up and pour into a crumb pie shell. (This will usually make 2 or even 3 of the foil pie pans)
Chill or freeze - we like it best frozen. We also like it best in the chocolate Oreo crumb crust.
