Great Aunt Helen's Kolacky

Why I Love This Recipe
Another recipe found in old family recipe box. I never knew this Aunt so had to look up recipe to find out who she was. It turns out the recipe has Polish ancestry so Great Aunt Helen was probably my step Grandpas Aunt :)
Ingredients You'll Need
2 1/2 Cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 cake yeast crumbled in flour
1/2 pound Lard (Lard ewwww maybe butter flavored crisco or even butter) crumbled in flour
2 egg yolks reserve whites
1 Cup sour cream
Filling ? wasn't on recipe
But i've used: Walnut filling
1/2 cup milk
2 TBS butter
2/3 cups sugar
1 LB walnuts crushed
1 TBS vanilla
Fresh fruit:
3 Cups fresh fruit
3 TBS sugar
1 TBS water
2 tsp Cornstarch
Cream cheese:
6oz cream cheese
1/4 tsp lemon juice
3 TBS sugar
1 egg yolk
or Jam or preserves
or pie filling
Powder sugar for dusting
Directions
Mix all together & put in bowl in fridge overnight
Next day: take out small pieces at a time and roll out thin the thinner the flakier
Cut in squares and and fill each w/ filling
Walnut filling:
Heat milk, butter, sugar and vanilla together
Remove from heat stir in 1 LB walnuts crushed
Fresh fruit:
Heat all ingredients until thickened some
Cream cheese filling:
Stir all together until smooth
or Jam or preserves for filling
or pie filling
