"This is my favorite banana bread recipe, one that I’ve cherished for over years. It’s the recipe that comes to mind first when I have leftover bananasThis is the best ever banana bread recipe and if you haven’t tried it yet, now’s the time."

Serves 8 | Prep Time 20 minutes | Cook Time 35-40 minutes

Why I Love This Recipe

Moist and delicious banana bread recipe. Easy to make, no need for a mixer!

Ingredients You'll Need

• 1/2cup Walnuts or Chocolate chips or Butterscotch nuts or a mix of all of these
• 1 3/4cup or 230g Flour(Maida)
• 3/4cup or 150g powdered sugar
• 1.5tsp baking powder
• 1.5tsp baking powder
• A pinch of salt
• 6tbs of buttermilk(3tbs yogurt&3tbs water)
• 1/2cup or 120g unsalted butter,melted and cooled
• 2-3 large bananas
• 1.5tsp vanilla essence


1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C

2. Butter the pan to prevent cake from sticking to the pan or place the parchment paper on the pan

3. In a large bowl mix together flour,sugar,baking powder,baking soda,salt and nuts

4. In a different bowl combine together mashed bananas, buttermilk, melted butter and vanilla essence.Fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients with spatula or a spoon until the batter is thick and chunky

5. Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 35-40 minutes or until the toothpick inserted comes out clean

6. Let it cool down then remove from the pan else it will collapse

7. Enjoy!

1. All ingredients must be at room temperature
2. Don’t overmix the batter
3. Bake the cake in the center of the oven for even distribution of heat
4. Use well ripened bananas(skin must be black)
