Why I Love This Recipe
I modified the recipe from an english muffins recipe, since it turned out amazing it has become one of my favorite recipes!
Ingredients You'll Need
625 grams bread flour
40 grams unsalted soft butter
2 teaspoons instant yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons of white granulated sugar
300 ml of whole milk
135 ml of water
Vegetable oil as needed
Semolina/semola flour as needed
1.Mix the dry ingredients; flour, yeast, salt and sugar, then incorporate the butter so it feels like sand.
2.Slowly add the milk and water until homogenous.
3. Transfer the dough en a deep oiled bowl, lift and fold the dough every 15 minutes for 1 hour. (for better flavor and texture place the dough in a topper and refrigerate overnight)
4.Shape into (approximately) 8cm diameter balls, place in two baking trays covered in semolina flour, separated 2cm between each other.
5. let rest with a lightly moist towel for 1 to 2 hours until doubled in size.
6.brush lightly with egg and optionally add sesame seeds
7. bake at 220°c for 15-20 minutes until golden outside and soft in the inside.
