We ended up doubling the recipe for this time around since the cut we received was a large one. Overall it was a good recipe and it was fun to have dealt with the piece of meat well.
Ingredients You'll Need
New York Steak 20 oz
Blackened Steak seasoning
- paprika 2 tbsp
- salt 4 tsp salt
- onion powder 2 tsp
- garlic powder 2 tsp
- cayenne pepper 2 tsp
-white pepper 1 tsp
- black pepper 1 tsp
- dried thyme 1 tsp
clarified butter 2 fl oz
capers 2 tbsp
whole butter softened 2 oz
french bread 4 slices
baby lettuce cleaned 8 oz
roma tomatoes sliced 4
red onion sliced 2 oz
Directions
Heat a skillet over high heat and let the pan heat up. Pat the steak dry and add the blackened steak seasoning
Place the steak into the pan and add the clarified butter that will be ladled onto the steak. Cook for two minutes
Turn the steak and continue to ladle the butter onto the steak until the desired doneness is reached and for us it was a medium well level of doneness. Remove steak and hold in warm place.
Chop the capers and combine them with the softened butter to spread over the bread
We made sure to toast the bread as well in the salamander until it was to our liking
To assemble the sandwich disperse the steak evenly between the sandwiches along with an even amount of greens, tomatoes, and onions on each sandwich and then serve.
