Almond Cake Squares

Ingredients You'll Need
Crust:
2 eggs
1 c. sugar
1 c. butter, melted
1 c. a.p. flour
Topping:
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. almonds
1 Tblsp. a.p. flour
1 Tblsp. milk
Directions
Grease and lighty flour a 13x9x2 inch baking pan; set aside.
Crust:
In a medium bowl, beat eggs and 1 c. sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until thick and lemon-color (about 8 min.).
Stir in the 1 c. melted butter and the 1 c. flour.
Pour into prepared pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean and edges begin to pull away from pan.
Topping:
Meanwhile, for topping, in small saucepan, combine the 1/2 c. butter, the 1/2 c. sugar,the almonds, the 1 Tblsp. flour and the milk.
Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture
comes to a boil.
Turn oven to broil: adjust oven rack so top ofcake is 3-4 inches from heat. Spoon almond
mixture over hot cake; broil 2-3 minutes oruntil golden. Cool.
