Red Cabbage Slaw

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 small shredded red cabbage
  • 1 small chopped onion
  • 2 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup white vinegar
DIRECTIONS
  1. Mix cabbage, onion and salt in glass or metal mixing bowl (not plastic).
  2. In a small saucepan, mix oil, sugar and vinegar. Bring to a boil.
  3. Pour mixture over cabbage -- do not stir.Let cabbage cool for 15 minutes.
  4. Cover and place in refrigerator for several hours or overnight
